August 2009 Meeting
Meeting Summary
The summary of this meeting of the FRIB Astrophysics Collaboration will be posted soon.Meeting Announcement
Dear nuclear astrophysics colleagues,We would like to invite you to participate in an informal discussion on
Nuclear Astrophysics at FRIB
on Monday, August 10, from 1pm to 5pm, at NSCL on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan.
The time and location are chosen to coincide with the opportunity to hold FRIB collaboration meetings at NSCL on this date, immediately after the ANL ATLAS User Workshop and immediately preceding the MSU NSCL User Workshop. More information on all the collaboration meetings can be found here.
The meeting will follow up on discussions initiated at the FRIB Workshop in late May at ANL, with an eye toward organizing an umbrella collaboration for nuclear astrophysics at FRIB.
As an initial agenda, we propose:
- continue discussions from the May 2009 FRIB Workshop (we ran out of time there)
- discuss steps needed towards the presentations of major projects to the FRIB Science Advisory Committee envisioned for Spring 2010.
- more discussion on advancing theory
- discuss framework of an FRIB nuclear astrophysics collaboration
Suggestions for additional topics are welcome. Please contact us with your ideas.
We have established a website of this new collaboration, to distribute information on nuclear astrophysics at FRIB to the community. Membership in the collaboration is open to anyone, and you can sign up with the form on this web page or by contacting us.
If you can attend this meeting, please register at
